ICEYE named on TIME’s list of World’s Top GreenTech Companies of 2025

Helsinki, Finland - March 27, 2025 - ICEYE, the global leader in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite operations, is proud to announce that it has been recognized in TIME’s ranking of the ‘World’s Top GreenTech Companies of 2025’ among 250 leading companies.

ICEYE is making pioneering contributions to environmental monitoring through its cutting-edge SAR technology which is critical in monitoring natural disasters, supporting environmental security, and delivering actionable insights for decision-makers. ICEYE’s technology development and solutions have significantly impacted Earth observation in natural disaster impact monitoring and assessment in flood and wildfire events, as well as in monitoring environmental changes such as the melting of sea ice, deforestation, volcanic eruptions, ground movement, and seismic activity.

ICEYE’s monitoring and insights help governments and organizations in disaster response and recovery, and strengthen the resilience of vulnerable communities. For example, in 2024, ICEYE analyzed 149 flood events, 383 wildfires, eight hurricanes and cyclones, six volcanic eruptions, and four earthquakes. ICEYE supported its government and commercial customers with e.g. the hurricanes Helene, Milton, and Debby in the US, Storm Boris in Poland and central Europe in September, and the DANA storm in Spain, by detecting and quantifying impacts to support disaster management. ICEYE has also worked with the University of Iceland and the Icelandic Space Agency to create a predictive model for identifying and monitoring potential volcanic eruptions.

This allows them to assess and respond to crisis scenarios and threats such as natural disasters. The technology offers the ability to obtain real-time information regardless of weather conditions or time of day.  It also serves as a crucial tool in tracking environmental changes and supporting sustainability efforts for disaster management, recovery efforts, and insurance. 

The ranking was compiled by TIME and research company Statista based on Statista’s analysis of a company’s positive environmental impact, financial strength, and innovative ability.
